#8: Profile Optimization

Well friends, this week is a prime example of what I LOVE about how this community is structured -

We’re learning together, having conversations, observing, optimizing, and growing based on the needs of the community.

What’s clear is that if you apply the frameworks and insights to be gained from the first 7 weeks of the content in here, you will massively increase your reach and, thereby, your opportunity on LinkedIn.

BUT - will you close more deals?

Not necessarily, because viral doesn’t close deals. It just means more eyeballs.

If you’re debating whether eyeballs matter, look up Jeb Blount’s “Law of Replenishment.” Eyeballs matter a LOT.

But those little peepers need something to do!

Once you’ve stoked a person’s curiosity, you are primed to build massive trust.

And on LinkedIn, your profile is everything. So let’s jump in.

First, as always, observations from the last week on the Link:

1: Post distribution timeline continues to stretch out:

I’ve seen quite a few people complaining that LinkedIn is still “glitching” and showing older posts. This, my friend, is no glitch. Neither was the weekend 2 weeks ago where all we saw was 3 week old posts and very little new content in the feed and we all thought the world was on fire (I’ll admit it is but that’s beyond my scope and in the scope of human history, very normal)

I digress

LinkedIn is not here to provide you with the most recent news - we have X for that.

And it’s not here to provide you with endless mind-numbing disinformation - we have Facebook for that.

LinkedIn is here to provide you with relevant insights and connection to your community so that you can create economic value.

So based on what type of content you consume and the amount of time you spend on the platform, it will serve you with content that furthers your interests, even if it’s older.

2: Relevance is now live:

I could NOT be more convinced now that there is an AI powering relevance to your feed, and that the way you engage directly influences what you see.
